Go To A Cubs Game

Go To A Cubs Game!

Attending a Chicago Cubs game is something I strongly advise. A Cubs game is a great time regardless of whether you’re a fan of the team, baseball, or even sports. There is no place like Wrigley Field for atmosphere. It’s strange to think about, but fun for all ages. Every game is packed with a diverse mix of spectators who support the same team. The list of spectators in the stands—including clubs, charity events, pub crawling groups, season ticket holders—does not end with school-age children on field trips.

My entire life, I’ve attended Cubs games. Early on, tickets to a game were dirt cheap as rocks (this was back when the Cubs weren’t the most talented team around). You could board the Addison Bus for a total of $15, purchase a ticket to the game, a hot dog, and still have cash left over to board the bus home. Get there early enough for batting practice, here’s a quick piece of advice. Many of the players enjoy throwing extra balls and will sign almost anything. all but Carlos Marmol. That person is not a very nice person.

Oh, I almost forgot: at Wrigley, I personally prefer the bleacher seats. Get bleacher seats if you want the best possible experience. The spectators there are unlike any I’ve ever encountered.

I’m so disappointed that I haven’t attended a game yet this season. However, that is about to change because I recently purchased tickets for the Diamondbacks game on August 4th! If you happen to be reading this and the first pitch is at 1:20, feel free to come down and meet me! I have seats in the stands…

A few things I recommend doing if you decide to hit the friendly confines:

The vast number of bars can be seen by strolling down the strip. Go socialize with other Cubs fans!

Use the batting cages at the nearby Sluggers Bar without a doubt. This is a great place to watch a game as well because they are iconic.

Visit a Wrigley concert—they frequently feature veteran bands and country musicians. Recent performances there included Luke Bryan!

Remember to snap a photo in front of the renowned Wrigley sign. The heat is on for you, so step up your Instagram game. 250+ likes are almost a guarantee, I swear.

The Wrigleyville Area is open to families and kids as well:

Bring chalk to the game! Write your name on the renowned Wrigley Wall to make history!

The Cubs also have a “movie in the park” event during the off-season. They show classic films; bring the whole family. The Rookie of the Year, which was partially filmed at Wrigley Field, is one of the most well-known!

Enroll in a tour to learn about the stadium’s interior and exterior! You can sign up online, here Wrigley Tour

The nearby restaurants are to DIE FOR, so go grab something to eat. Dimo’s Pizza is a great choice. There is delicious food there (8.8/10). (One-Bite Rating)

I’ll give you bandwagons and newcomers out there a quick tip. When attending a game, there are a few things that are required. Get a bag of peanuts without a doubt. Obviously, a hot dog with everything on it. Possibly a cold beer Wear only Cubs apparel, please. Nothing irritates me more than when a fan shows up at the stadium wearing a Bulls jersey and a Steelers hat. Man, don’t cross sports, don’t be that guy. Support the neighborhood and the home team. After the age of ten, you shouldn’t bring your glove to games (unless you’re with your child, in which case it’s okay). Using your hands, grab the ball! YOU RECEIVED THEM AS A RESULT OF THIS! Check out this prime example:

Another piece of advice is to support the clubhouse by purchasing some merchandise if you’re really in the mood. Wear that jersey with pride. And try your hand at purchasing a raffle ticket… You’d be surprised to learn that I have zero interest in gambling. However, there is a problem with those tickets… Would highly recommend.

There is no place else like this stadium in terms of culture. Indescribable describes the atmosphere. Not many other MLB clubhouses can claim that this location is a landmark. It has a place in my heart that I will never let go of. Even though the stadium has been slightly modernized, there are still some hints of the traditional/old-school home field that we all know and love. I’ve been going to games there for my entire life (way before the Cubs recent success). Because of how expensive they’ve become, I am aware that attending games is becoming increasingly difficult. However, I make an effort to attend a minimum of one game each summer. In Chicago culture, it is essential.

lso – Do not cry at our stadium like this guy. Just relax, buddy, and consider 2016. You’ll definitely smile after reading it, I guarantee it.

So, bring your wife, kids, and friends. If you want to leave on your own, so be it. The Cubs game is a treat, and it should always be regarded as such. Enjoy.
